End of term-itus

The days are darker, the nights are colder and we are busy with a major assignment each week from now until the end of time, oops, I mean, term. (sigh)

Hannah had a day off school last week with a nasty cough but she is back on board again, everyone else is fine. Zak went off to see his soccer game on Saturday and managed to have a run around on the paddock. We are back at the doctor this week for another X-ray and hopefully the all clear. He is still limping a little but less and less each week.

Katarina, we discovered on Sunday, had not unpacked her toothbrush since going to Naseby a week ago. A whole week, without brushing her teeth!!! Ugh. Her sense of timing is appalling as she is very keen to go on a school trip to Deep Cove for electives week. Hmmmm.

Janine is planning her party - not that her birthday is for another 2 weeks!

Chris has decided he wants to use one of my songs for an assignment so the recording studio is up and running. It is all a bit tricker, technically, than it sounds so I am not quite sure why the boys expected me to just be able to sort it myself. Ha!

And, as you can see, I am avoiding my assignments.
Tee Hee.

May musings

Chris and I continue to have our heads down with two major assignments due this week. Katarina went to Naseby in the weekend with the Leith youth group, biking. Cool. Chris also managed to catch the Regent book sale.

The children are all enjoying their music lessons on Saturday morning.

Hannah is coughing away at the moment and may have tomorrow off, we will see how she is in the morning.
Zach and Chris had an informal game of soccer with some friends yesterday. The limp is slower disappearing and we have several more weeks before the final X-ray.

It is definitely colder and the days are drawing in.
We are making some enquiries about a postion for next year but nothing to report yet.

women in the bible

I spent the last weekend at Waihola with 50 other women. Helen Harray and the team from Student Soul ran the weekend and I helped out playing guitar, a drama and one or two other bits and pieces, including a song. Helen challenged us to see some of the stories about women in a different way and we spent some time sharing stuff we have learnt along the way.
Chris enjoyed a weekend with the family, busy with music and sound on Sunday plus two parties, one for Janine and one for Hannah.

We are both busy with 2 major assignments due in the next two weeks, plus trying to think about a placement next year.

Teenagers...

Katarina celebrated her 13th birthday on Sunday. We met 9 of her friends on Friday night as they watched a movie, made pizza's and played silly party games. Great fun.
Actually, it was a weekend of parties as Katarina went in turn to a party on Saturday and Hannah went to another one on Sunday.
Katarina went with the youth group on Sunday to Tuapeka Mouth where they were gratefully and graciously received. The young people did a reprise of their youth service, although without me as I was leading worship on Sunday at Leith. I think Katarina was sick of hearing "Happy Birthday" by the time she returned home, she had heard it so many times already. There was even a cake! Sounds like she was suitably fussed over and celebrated with.
And we celebrated with our favourite take-away's from the Vietnamese satay noodle house.
So now we have a teenager in the house although she has been practising for the last 6 months or so. Good times.
