June the end

It is ball season, so we are ball gown shopping - again! And playing with hair styles and leaving things until the last minutes as usual. Both girls are involved this year and apparently wearing last year's dress or swopping is not an option. Sigh.
Duncan and Tracy were away to Christchurch this weekend; Tracy's brother is seriously ill. Mum has been up helping during the week, not that we saw much of her.
The week has been busy with a very good pastoral care seminar at church on Friday night and Saturday - a local counselor is upskilling people, and it is great to have quality training on site.
Shadow played fetch with another hedgehog and by the evening was feeling very sorry for herself as her face swelled up; she looked like a different dog, and couldn't eat her dinner. It came right by the next morning. I suspect she hasn't learned her lesson.
Zach and Hannah are busy fundraising for football and for school, selling chocolates and May's pies, you've been warned!

Shortest daze

Janine was asking about waiting today, and I pointed out that if you are one week old, a week is a lifetime, but if you are two weeks old, it is only half a lifetime. So, as you grow older, the weeks may seem to pass more swiftly because they are incrementally a smaller proportion of your life. Pretty deep for a Monday.
We have survived the sixteenth birthday celebrations - Janine is pretty chuffed, especially with her new phone - same number folks.
Zak came home from rep training on Sunday with some pretty nifty new drills; he seems to think it is OK to do this in front of the TV! Really?
Katarina is thinking about taking a fresh approach to her art studies, which means a whole lot more work, but she is bored at the moment. Discussions continue.
Hannah enjoyed having her smaller cousins over on Sunday afternoon; sometimes it can be a pain being the youngest, but having cousins handy means you can sometimes organise the games. And then she and Zak did Singstar (Queen) on Sunday night - hilarious!

Cross Country

Today is the Gleniti Cross Country; the day is fine, the kids are keen, who knows what will result?

More in June

Janine had a quiet dessert evening with a few friends on Saturday. Zach has been ill this week with a cold but is back on top of things. Short week last week and another short week this week too.

June?

I've been away in Katikati this weekend - check out the onevoice website for an insight into what I've been up to.
Zach was a ball boy for the local Hearts team playing what turned out to be their last Chatham cup game for the season while Hannah fundraised for football by selling chocolate.
Katarina and Janine both had very good reports from school which is nice; still some things to work on, but all good.
