Hitting the right note

Hannah has been singing her wee heart out on the way to Montessori this week, "This is the way we walk to school" etc to the tune of "Here we go round the mulberry bush". This is good as she is content to hold my hand as we go rather than running down the hill, or, worse - making me run beside her! The weather hasn't been so frosty, positivly warm in fact with nor'westers most of this week. As I type this, however, my nose is telling me it is about 5 degrees inside - and we've got the fire on!!!

Zach was singing an original song about Cinnamon Toast this morning and Janine is practising hard for her special choir's performance at the upcoming Principal's Conference. I think Katarina's only music involvement, apart from drum lessons and ballet, is listening to ZM.

Anyway, Janine had a lovely birthday, with lots of big friends, (Jo and cousin Anna, amonst others) to tea on Wednesday night and then her friends came for a highly successful sleepover with movies and some sleep on Saturday.

By the time we had a long lunch with Dawson's on Sunday afternoon and tea with the Purdie's, that made short work of the weekend. Oh yes, and I managed to watch Zach in their toughest game yet, just a 5-nil effort this week with two try's by the boy. Skills and teamwork contine to improve and Zach remains as keen as ever.

Chris and I are just mopping up the last bits and peices for the end of term. We are supposed to be working on our Synthesis project. However, I had a wisdom tooth out on Monday which has knocked me back a little and I'm finding it hard to focus when next week we are off to Wanaka, to visit the McDougals and some snow although if the temperatures keep dropping here we may have snow here again.

Heads down, tails up

Just so you know we've been working hard, you will notice the lack of blogs for the last little while...
Chris and I sat our one and only exam on Saturday morning, while the children toddled off to their various activities with gym for Hannah, soccer for Zach and music for the big girls.
We still have two weeks to go at the SOM; this week has four rather large assignments due, none of which we've started before today because we were swotting and getting in last week's assignments! Next week is "Synthesis Week" where we get a chance to focus on a major piece of integrative work relating to our respective ministry interests. Any the wiser? Neither are we but we will update you as we get our heads around the concept.
Katarina had a lovel week away in Wanaka with a school trip. She came back very tired of course and home must seem very flat and boring by comparison. (Fancy having to do the dishes, AGAIN!)
We went up to Warrington beach after church yesterday, to join the Leith Valley church's ladies retreat for lunch. Gorgeous day, gorgeous beach and a lovely time was had by all.
Chris and the girls celebrated the end of our one and only exam, plus a fellow students birthday at Lazer Strike, a high tech, team, sort of fun thingy.
This week we are looking forward to Janine's birthday on Wednesday; she is having a sleepover in the weekend but we've invited some big kids for tea on Wednesday, cousin Anna is making a cake, should be good!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

yes, it's snowing in Dunedin and there was lots of white stuff around the house this morning but it was very wet and didn't stay long. The kids were hopeful there would be a snow day but we managed to get everyone to school through the blizzard conditions.

We are hoping to get to Oamaru on tomorrow as the music and soccer are off with the long weekend.

Katarina is off to Wanaka on Tuesday for a school camp, lucky thing.
