Dunedin

I am in Dunedin this week for the second week of a counseling course. Last week was bitterly cold, snow on the hills, wet, grey and generally miserable. This week I've seen the sun a little more, but it has closed in again tonight, the longest night. Time to wrap up warm and stay indoors I think.
Chris is managing to get the children to all their activities, which takes some doing. They are enjoying all the regular gluten food that we often don't have - pizza, lemon meringue pie, pasta, and that sort of thing! And Hannah is stepping up in the cooking department - macaroni cheese last Monday!
Zach went to football rep trials Sunday afternoon and will do the same this week too.
Chris is really busy putting together the first annual Woman's Dinner at TPP, which should become a regular highlight on the social calender.

June 2012

This week I am in Dunedin on a prayer ministry course, so Chris is chief cook and bottle washer at home. I will be home for the weekend however.  I had lunch with Katarina on Monday after an exam and will also see her briefly on Thursday night.
Janine's friends threw her a surprise birthday party on Saturday night. One invited her for a sleep over while others spent all day decorating and wrapping so they could surprise her! What a lovely group of friends she has!!!
Hannah did an excellent job of cooking tea on Monday night - macaroni cheese! The challenge this week is to have all the gluten meals you don't have when your mum is gluten free! So, pizza, pasta, pies - all possibilities!!!
Zach is learning the ukelele and doing an excellent job. He is working on "Love Love Love" by Avalanche City which is surprisingly tricky. (He is also learning the piano and has picked up the Alto recorder this year.)

Sad news

We were sorry to hear of Tante Diny's passing. She was an avid reader of this blog and we would hear about it if there was too long a gap between posts. Chris used to stay with his aunt during the holidays as a child, and we visited regularly when we lived in Auckland. Diny was very fond of cats, and besides having many of her own, helped at the SPCA. We remember her with love.

No snow

No snow for us, and the children off to school as usual. It is jolly cold today however!
