March musings

The trees are starting to turn in Timaru. The red leaves in the Reserve are particularly vibrant this week, and a pair of Paradise ducks flew circuit after circuit this morning, driving the poor dog mad. It feels like autumn.
Hannah had a wonderful time at camp. She organised herself, thinking ahead what she need to be washed (without any prompting on my part, I might add!), packing herself, and even baking her own cake, with a little supervision from Janine. Not bad for a ten year old!
We've shifted rooms around, putting Zach downstairs after cleaning out Katarina's room. She has boxes of stuff to go through next time she is home which she isn't looking forward to, but it has to be done!
Chris has been sick most of the week with a cold. He took a couple of days off work but it has been a particularly intense time. We've enjoyed having the Moderator of the Presbyterian church around for some of the week, and on Saturday the KidsFriendly coach, Jill Kayser ran some training for us. She is an inspiration! Janine completed a baby sitting course on Saturday, and even has a First Aid certificate!

M- m - m - March?

I've been too busy to get to the blog until now this week. Sunday is always a full on day with church and youth group (x2), and Chris and I spent Monday in Oamaru with Tracy. There were a few odd jobs to do around the house as we get ready for the London cousins to arrive.
This week has been complicated by several funerals and a number of very unwell people to visit.
Hannah enjoyed her Top School's event on Sunday, even if she forgot her togs and had to do an emergency run back to the house for them.
Zach is enjoying futsal, ref-ing two games this week, and playing two. He did manage to pick up a yellow card for a hand ball, but he reckons he deserved it.
Janine is enjoying silence as Chris finally fixed the dripping tap in the bath room that has been driving her mad for ages.
